About the Job:
This position supports the development of a portfolio of MFI debt investments in the CIS region (focus on a select number of countries in the Caucasus and Central Asia). Initially, the Investment Analyst will work very closely within the team of Investment Managers on a selected number of projects. Over time, more responsibility will be given, including assignment of one or more countries.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Identifying suitable investment opportunities.
Negotiating debt transactions with MFIs.
Executing due diligence analyses of MFIs.
Drafting and presenting reports to Investment Committee.
Keep abreast of economic, financial and political developments in assigned countries.
Advanced academic degree in finance / economics or equivalent by experience.
At least 2 years of experience in microfinance investment management or microfinance consulting services (such as rating, technical assistance).
Passionate about microfinance industry.
Committed to social objectives of microfinance.
Experience in working in one or more countries of the EECA region.
Entrepreneurial, pro-active, result-oriented.
Hands-on attitude and resilient to stress.
Strong analytical mind.
Capable of presenting investment opportunities to highly professional counterparts.
Very good oral and written English, other languages such as Russian (ideally) would be an advantage.
Good IT user skills ( excellent knowledge of MS Office).
Prepared to travel frequently and high degree of flexibility.
Good team player.
