About the Job: 

Oikocredit’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean is looking for an Investment Officer (40 hours) to be based in Lima, Peru. The Investment Officer is part of the Regional Office and reports to the Investment Manager.

The Investment Officer will work with internal and external experts as required in the best interests of  partners and Oikocredit. He/she will act as a relationship manager, translating market developments and client needs into opportunities to create impact and do business. Although specialised in a specific sector, the Investment Officer is conversant with Oikocredit’s strategy, sectors and its products & services.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Building, maintaining and monitoring a portfolio of investments in one or more countries in the region in the Andean Region with a focus on Peru and Ecuador.
  • Focusing on commercial activities and working closely together with specialists at regional level.
  • Responsibility for the country´s portfolio performance and quality check of new proposals.
  • Identifying the needs and opportunities that would benefit from the financial resources made available by Oikocredit.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the local networks; representing Oikocredit at conferences and events.
  • Conducting due diligence and preparing EPTs, supporting the closing of deals and disbursements, monitoring and supporting capacity building projects.


  • Master´s degree in the field of finance or business administration.
  • Four to six years of experience in banking, market analysis and economic development.
  • In-depth knowledge of inclusive finance, agriculture finance.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis using advanced financial modelling.
  • Solid understanding of and ability to evaluate company financial statements.
  • Good business acumen and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive user skills of Microsoft Excel and computer literacy in general.
  • Excellent written and verbal command of English.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in impact financing and more particularly in agri business.
    • Field experience in South America Region.
