About the Job: 

Village Enterprise seeks a dynamic and passionate individual to support our robust Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) agenda.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Research and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ongoing data cleaning and analysis and report drafting related to Village Enterprise research and learning initiatives.
  • Contribute to design and implementation of Village Enterprise evaluation and research studies.
  • Support relationships with external research partners.
  • Manage Village Enterprise research Fellows/Interns as requested.
  • Database Management:
    • Provide high-level database oversight, including data quality review and management of data cleaning efforts upon request.
    • Provide programming database support for VE staff members as needed.
    • Support ongoing optimization of database for current and new programming.
  • Program Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Contribute to research and design of new monitoring and evaluation instruments and processes necessary for institutional learning, adaptation, accountability and communications.
    • Support design of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for new projects as requested.
    • Provide support to field-based Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team on an as-needed basis.
  • Communications and Fundraising:
    • Create reports as needed for accountability, fundraising and communications purposes.
    • Represent Village Enterprise in external meetings and events as needed.
  • Administration:
    • Support general operations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, economics, statistics, international development or a related field; preference will be given to candidate with a master’s degree.
  • Experience cleaning and analyzing social impact programming data (two years minimum if no master’s degree).
  • Strong command of Stata.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of fundamentals of monitoring and evaluation for social impact programming.
  • Literate in data collection methods.
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or TaroWorks is preferred.
  • Experience working in east Africa is preferred, especially in a monitoring, evaluation and/or research capacity.
