YES Cameroon to Provide Nationwide Financial Education Training for Micro-entrepreneurs

YES Cameroon, in collaboration with partner organizations, will deliver a nationwide financial education training targeting the over 11 million people who do not have access to basic training and credit. The purpose of the training is to enhance economic and social inclusion through the development of long sustained businesses in Cameroon.

The project will train some 6,000 people in the 58 divisions of the 10 regions of Cameroon on basic financial skills, the use of mobile money, so they can grow their businesses and create more economic opportunities for themselves. Participants will enroll in a 12-week comprehensive course that covers the topics of: 

  • Budgeting;
  • Savings; 
  • Debt management;
  • Financial negotiations and banking services;
  • Insurance; 
  • Credit products;
  • Business plan setup.
