Impact of International Recognition on the Institutional Development of Yemeni Microfinance Banks: A Qualitative Case Study of Al-Amal Microfinance Bank (AMB)
Despite Al-Amal Microfinance Bank (AMB) receiving more than thirty international awards and recognitions and establishing extensive international partnerships since its inception, no empirical study has examined how these achievements have influenced its institutional development. This qualitative single-case study therefore investigates the impact of international recognition on the institutional development of AMB. Specifically, it explores the mechanisms through which the Bank achieves international recognition and examines its influence on institutional reputation and broader organizational development.
The study is guided by Signaling Theory, Stakeholder Theory, and the Resource-Based View, and adopts a conceptual framework in which International Recognition represents the independent variable, Institutional Reputation the mediating variable, and Institutional Development the dependent variable. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with senior management and key personnel involved in international recognition activities, supported by documentary analysis of official reports, award dossiers, institutional publications, and website content.
