As a practitioner in this space, with experience in the strategic leadership of microfinance institutions in Uganda, I have experienced this challenge first-hand with little to no support from the government made to climate-prone areas apart from the interventions from the private sector, which is usually not adequate to address the gaps around mitigation, adaptation and resilience, with cost leading this challenge.
