Gojo & Co was founded in July 2014 with a mission to deliver financial access to the world as a Private Sector World Bank. It aims to provide low-cost, high-quality financial services to100 million people in 50 countries by 2030. For the last five years since its inception, it has acquired or founded microfinance institutions in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and India and has employed over 2,500 and served more than 450,000 people. The total loan amount under the management has exceeded $200,000; the consolidated net profit has turned positive since FY017.

About the Job: 

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Partner (MFI) Management:
    • Make sure that the governance works effectively.
    • Participate in important decision making of partner organizations.
    • Support Country Reps' job and guide them to the right direction.
    • Provide guidance on product development and key operational processes/policy of partner companies.
    • If necessary, be involved in the management of the partner organizations to solve problems.
  • Corporate Management:
    • Ensure that Gojo allocates its resources rightly.
    • Facilitate the discussions of corporate strategy and implement it.
    • Review or draft all the important policies of the Company.
    • Facilitate the discussion of the board and the management committee to make the right decisions.
    • Support HR matters of the organization.
  • Fundraising:
    • Assist the team in the discussion; monitor progress of the activities and give necessary support.
    • Monitor the IR activity of the company.
  • Investment:
    • Assist the team in the discussion; monitor progress of the activities and give necessary support.
    • Be a member of the investment committee and play a key role in making the right decisions.
  • Technology:
  • Ensure that tech strategy and initiatives are aligned with Gojo's overall strategy. 
  • Coordinate with CTO (to be hired) to ensure the technology is conducive to operational efficiency/effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • English: Must be fluent enough to communicate local team as well as global investors.
  • Microfinance: Five or more years of exposure to microfinance or similar business (e.g., retail banking in developing nations).
  • Field experience: Five or more years of exposure to business in developing nations.
  • Management: Three or more years of experience as a management team member of a company having global operation.
  • Other:
    • Guiding Principles: Share and exemplify Gojo’s Guiding Principles.
    • Leadership and team management: Gain trust from all Gojo members and the management of partner companies for his/her capability and personality.
    • Communication Skill: Get along with all members; all members can freely talk to him/her to share their concerns.
  • Preferred experience:
    • Management Support: Three or more years of experience in management consulting or private equity.
    • Investment & Finance: Five or more years of experience in investment banking, PE, or Venture Capital.
    • Technology: Three or more years of experience in fintech business.
