About the Job: 

Women’s World Banking is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Relationship Manager with financial services and/or banking industry experience for its largest donor, Visa Foundation. The grant from the Visa Foundation is a $20M, five-year grant with the objective of ensuring that 2.2 million enterprises—1.5 million of which are owned by low-income women—are financially empowered. Serving these enterprises will create a multiplier effect that builds financial resilience for millions more women entrepreneurs, employees and clients. The Relationship Manager will manage all aspects of the relationship with Visa Foundation and Visa Inc and work with internal Women’s World Banking project teams to meet the commitments to the donor.  The key criteria for success will be delivering on the objectives of the Visa Foundation grant and a successful renewal of the grant.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day relationship with the Visa Foundation and Visa Inc and act as the primary point of contact.
  • Establish the donor facing management system and process to ensure the donor is kept informed of all major developments and status of projects relating to the grant.
  • Establish internal facing management system working with the internal Visa Foundation / Program manager(s) to monitor all project execution to ensure donor commitments are met:
    • Has a 360 view of all workstreams.
    • Monitor progress of individual projects in the program with focus on project scope, schedule, costs and impact metrics.
    • Communicate performance against metrics to donor.
  • Prepare periodic status reports, personnel reviews and other management reports as requested.
  • Work with donor reporting team to ensure all donor reports meet the quality standards of the Visa Foundation.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams, marketing, support, project management to ensure all major donor commitments are met.
  • Escalating and resolving areas of concern as raised by Visa Foundation.
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and enhance processes, leverage existing content and materials, identify interdependencies and common issues, and share leading practices across initiatives.
  • Holds deep knowledge of each workstream including but not limited to:
    • Stage of execution.
    • Key learnings and knowledge.
    • Risks/challenges.
    • Burn rate vs. target.
    • Resources spent vs. outcomes achieved.
    • “Go-to” person on any questions/issues related to the Program from Visa Foundation or the Women’s World Banking leadership team.
  • Prepare and deliver project reports, customized dashboards, consolidated schedules, supporting documents, and presentations for program and project status meeting with donor.
  • Track key performance indicators and create reports and presentations to be delivered to organization leadership and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to stitch narrative across all workstreams on how they individually and collectively are delivering on the program commitments.
  • Manage and coordinate quarterly management system between Women’s World Banking CEO and Visa SVP for Social Impact.
  • This role will require strong partnership and collaboration with the internal Visa Foundation Portfolio / Program Manager.
  • Lead the renewal plan, process and timing working with EVP.
  • Support Visa Inc employee engagement programs and execution.
  • Lead Women’s World Banking support for preparation of Visa Foundation board meetings.


  • Seven or more years of project relationship management experience within the professional services, financial services and/or banking industry or similar environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and successfully achieve objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Experience working on large scale global projects, leading cross-functional teams, ensuring milestones are on schedule and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Track record of superior creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven collaborative, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with and a level of comfort in working across departments.
  • Aptitude for a fast pace, diverse work environment.
  • Ability to work with remote teams.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience managing groups of related projects spanning the globe, and a cross-functional delivery teams, in a coordinated manner to obtain benefits not available from managing them individually.
    • Exposure to financial services and/or banking products and services (savings, loans, insurance, digital, Fintech, etc.).
