About the Job: 

The M&E Specialist is a short-term role to support Women’s World Banking’s organizational performance management. The Specialist will work closely with the Strategy and M&E team to implement and continuously improve organizational and program-level monitoring systems, as well as support internal evaluations. This role is a leave coverage, for approximately 6 months starting in November 2019.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Performance:
    • Drive the maintenance of Strategic & Operational Dashboards.
      • Support programmatic staff in timely reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
      • Validate and interpret results with programmatic staff.
      • Coordinate the cascading of Strategic & Operational Dashboard KPIs to project measurement frameworks.
      • Ensure clear operating procedures and accountabilities around KPI data collection and reporting.
    • Conduct analysis of organizational performance against targets:
      • Develop high quality analysis and insights.
      • Deliver materials to communicate the organization’s performance to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support other organization-wide monitoring efforts, including:
      • Ongoing monitoring of satisfaction of partner financial service providers.
      • Annual monitoring of network member performance metrics.
  • Program Performance:
    • Design project measurement frameworks:
      • Develop measurement frameworks during project scoping, to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
      • Collaborate with programmatic staff to identify KPIs and appropriate targets for each project.
    • Support implementation of project measurement frameworks:
      • Establish data collection methods and timelines to ensure ability to report against project KPIs.
      • Oversee ongoing monitoring and reporting against project KPIs.
      • Support programmatic staff and partner organizations in developing monitoring tools and templates, as needed.
    • Conduct analysis of programmatic performance against targets:
      • Aggregate results across projects to inform insights.
  • Program Evaluation:
    • Support development evaluation plans for program effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Coordinate with Research team to develop and deliver customer outcomes evaluation studies, and ensure alignment to strategic objectives.
    • Support Development team in proposals for funding to support internal evaluations.


  • Three to five years of relevant work experience in monitoring & evaluation, or performance management.
  • Experience in designing measurement frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with a proven ability to communicate results to inform decision making.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team work skills.
  • Structured thinker and problem solver.
