About the Job: 

The Research team seeks a volunteer to provide support on data analytics, market research, and literature review. This role requires 20 hours of work and commitment per week. The volunteer will gain valuable insight and experience in the area of qualitative and quantitative research work in the field of financial inclusion.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support Research team in:
    • Data preprocessing, data manipulation, merging data sets, and data quality control using Stata / R / Python. The data may be at individual-level client data or aggregate level.
    • Perform descriptive statistics analysis of client database, including, but not limited to client demographics and user profiles (segmentation, gender analysis, and client segmentation).
    • Data Visualization using Stata / R / Python / Tableau.
    • Market research and literature review.
    • Writing reports.
    • Schedule/attend meetings, tracking meeting follow-ups, and assist in preparing materials for internal meetings.
    • Work with survey data to create data capture tools, enter and clean survey responses and perform descriptive and statistical analysis.


  • Be interested in learning more about the field of financial inclusion.
  • Be working towards a graduate degree in Economics, MBA, or Social Sciences who have passed at least three data analytics course work; or have previous experience working in development economics related projects with at least a bachelor’s degree.
  • Have hands on experience working with Stata / R / Python / SAS.
  • Have hands on experience with data visualization.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Comfort summarizing and reporting research findings in written and graphical format.
  • Works effectively as part of a team; must be detail-oriented.
