Your one-stop-shop for turning learning into action
Much of the original content in this Playbook was developed in close collaboration with Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Caribou Digital, ICCO Cooperation, Kenya Commercial Bank, Kiva, Mastercard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity and One Acre Fund, who are program partners in the Mastercard Foundation Rural and Agricultural Finance (RAF) portfolio.
Further qualitative research deep dives conducted for this research with three pilot partners aimed to understand how they learn and how knowledge flows across their organizations, what their learning challenges and needs are, and what types of interventions and support could drive learning improvements. A broader review collected anecdotes from additional partners, expert advisors, and other literature, to contextualize the core body of partner insights within a broader knowledge base and established theory on organizational learning.
Through research with these partners, as well as a broader review of literature on the topics of organizational learning and knowledge management, it’s clear that many principles and challenges of organizational learning are not unique to the Mastercard Foundation portfolio partners. This playbook is hoped to have broader use for organizations of all types, and particularly those working in the development or social impact spaces.
