Call for Proposals for the 2026 International Conference on Inclusive Insurance
The 2026 International Conference on Inclusive Insurance will take place from 19 to 23 October in Kigali, Rwanda. Over 1,000 experts from more than 50 countries will discuss ways to accelerate growth and improve the economic viability of inclusive insurance in emerging markets. Hosted by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN), the National Bank of Rwanda (NBR), Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR), the Rwanda Insurers Association (ASSAR) and the Rwanda Insurance Brokers Association (RIBA), the conference is organized in cooperation with the Munich Re Foundation and the Microinsurance Network.
The call for proposals has been designed to reflect current and emerging developments in the sector. It will cover the following topics:
- Business models for inclusive insurance.
- Digital solutions.
- Health or hospital cash.
- Funeral insurance or family financial support in the event of the breadwinner’s death.
- Micro pensions.
- The role of microfinance institutions and savings and credit cooperatives.
- Coping with climate and disaster risks.
- Understanding demand and customer needs.
- Enabling (policy and regulatory) environment.
- Gender-sensitive inclusive insurance.
- Consumer education.
- Learnings from scientific research.
