JICA Signs a Loan Agreement for a Project to Promote Financial Inclusion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Honduras
On December 24, 2024, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Banco del País, S.A. (Banpais) in the Republic of Honduras, for Private Sector Investment Finance Project, and held the signing ceremony on February 12, 2025. The loan is co-financed with International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The project aims to improve access to finance for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), including women-owned businesses, in the Republic of Honduras by providing loans to Banpais, thereby contributing to developing SMEs, creating job opportunities, and reducing gender inequality in the country.
