Resolution Adopted by the General Assembly on 15 December 2025: Financial Inclusion for Sustainable Development

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution titled "Financial inclusion for sustainable development" on December 15, 2025, during its 80th Session, emphasizing increased international cooperation to leverage digital financial tools for expanding access to finance, particularly for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and for building financial resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The resolution promotes open finance, stronger digital government, and better integration of financial inclusion into national SDG reviews, recognizing digital technology's role and the ongoing challenge of the widening financing gap, noting that access alone isn't enough for true resilience.
