Impact of Economic and COVID-19 Crises on Microcredit Borrowers
This slide deck summarizes the key findings from a 2020 study to measure and monitor the direct impact of Lebanon’s economic and COVID-19 crises on microfinance clients, based on quantitative and qualitative research conducted over the phone, combining questionnaires and in-depth interviews. It details the deterioration of borrowers’ situation throughout 2020, highlighting a rise in poverty coupled with increasing levels of debt.
