Seventh European Research Conference on Microfinance

The seventh European Research Conference on Microfinance will take place on 20-22 June 2022 at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK. The conference is organized by the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health, Glasgow Caledonian University in collaboration with the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP).

Since it was created by CERMi in 2009, the European Research Conference on Microfinance is a special bi-annual opportunity for researchers, students and professionals all over the world to come together in order to share and discuss about their latest advances in microfinance. This 2022 conference will be hosted by the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health at Glasgow Caledonian University. This edition of the conference will be focused on microfinance research priorities that are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the pillars of the United Nations’ socio-economic recovery framework in a post-COVID world. Globally, current challenges are widespread, complex and interrelated and, in this context, it is relevant to better understand the role that microfinance can play on the path for recovery to:

  1. End poverty.
  2. Achieve good health and wellbeing for all.
  3. Advance gender equity.
  4. Engage and include marginalized populations.
  5. Ensure decent work.
  6. Prevent a digital divide.
  7. Tackle public health silos and inter-sectoral challenges.
  8. Facilitate climate action.
  9. Engage in global governance structures and partnering for social innovation.
