Throwing in the Towel

Drawing on examples from five continents and five in-depth cases studies based on interviews with microfinance institution (MFI) directors, managers, and creditors who dealt directly with an MFI liquidation, this paper analyzes the unique challenges of MFI liquidations, and provides recommendations to improve their outcomes.
