Ghana Climate Risk Assessment for Subnational Adaptation

Climate change has increased the severity and frequency of extreme weather events and temperature and rainfall variability. This in turn exacerbates many sustainable development issues related to freshwater shortages, including food insecurity, health, employment, livelihoods, gender equality, migration, poverty, and inequality, among others.

This study seeks to understand exactly what risks are most likely to threaten individual districts in Ghana, and to support the future planning of climate adaptation activities that work to reduce the vulnerability of exposed populations to those risks.
