FinEquity's Guide to Using Dgroups

Joining Dgroups is Simple

  1. Click here to sign-up. After inputting your email address you will receive an email from UNCDF inviting you to confirm your interest in joining the FinEquity Dgroups.

  2. Once you have confirmed you will be asked to set a password.

  3. You will then be invited to visit the FinEquity and UNCDF Dgroups home pages. (Please note that we are hosts only of the FinEquity pages and it is up to you to decide if you would like to follow other Dgroups hosted by UNCDF).

  4. You will also be invited to set up your profile by clicking the identity icon on the left-hand side of the page. We strongly encourage you to share a photo, short bio, and your location, which allows other members to easily find you in order to network, collaborate, and invite you to attend regional activities.

  5. After you have finished the sign-up process you will receive an email confirming your membership to the FinEquity Dgroups (usually within a few hours and never longer than 2 days).

  6. Go to and click on the Log-In link in the upper right corner. Enter your email and password and you're done!

Two Ways to Participate in Dgroups Conversations (also called Topics or Threads)

  1. You can respond to a message when it arrives in your email inbox, just as you would to a normal email. (Please note that by default the reply will go to the entire FinEquity Dgroups community, and not just the sender. (You can always find a sender’s email by in  the FinEquity Dgroups Member Directory.)

  2. Visit the Dgroups Messages page to find all conversations and choose the one(s) you’d like to reply to.
  • Once you've found a conversation that interests you, click on the title to open a conversation (messages will be displayed in reverse chronological order, with the most recent on top.)
  • At the bottom of each message, you'll find a Reply button. (Please note: here you have the option of replying either to the entire FinEquity Dgroups community by clicking on the green button at the bottom left corner of the message, or replying directly to the poster by clicking on the private button at the bottom right corner.)

Two Additional Types of FinEquity Dgroups Conversations

  1. FinEquityALC is a FinEquity Dgroups subgroup with a focus on the Latin America and Caribbean region. Conversations are primarily in Spanish and as a member of the FinEquity Dgroups you can join FinEquityALC at any time.

  2. #DgroupsDialogues are e-discussions held over a designated period of time. They are produced by a FinEquity Working Group Lead and usually hosted by a member of the FinEquity community. Conversations are grouped by # (click the appropriate # in the tags dropdown box). For more information read our step-by-step guide.

Launch a New Conversation and Tap into the Collective Knowledge and Interests of the FinEquity Community. All FinEquity Dgroups Members are Welcome to Ask Questions, Provide Updates, and Share Invitations to Virtual and In-Person Events.

  2. Provide a clear title for your topic, start typing (we recommend being short and clear, as you would in a normal email), and hit send.

  3. To share a document either add it as an attachment to your new topic, or copy-paste the document within the body of your email.

  4. A moderator (a member of the FinEquity team) will review your email before it is posted.
