Mitigating the Impact of COVID-19 on Gains in Financial Inclusion: Early Lessons From Regulators and Policymakers

The full impact of this global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on countries, businesses and households is still unfolding, as many countries continue their fight to control the spread of the virus. Even though the pandemic is not over, pausing to take stock of emerging lessons and policy priorities will improve our preparedness for future crises as well as position the network to fully harness emerging opportunities.

This report takes a holistic look at what we have learnt so far, in responding to COVID-19 and its fallouts for financial inclusion, our economies and people. It captures first high-level lessons on policy responses that emerged within the AFI network.
