The addition of Owoafara illustrates ShEquity’s unrelenting commitment to providing smart investments for African female entrepreneurs and innovators.

The didigital gender divide is the focus of an innovative multinational study launched recently by the Leir Institute for Migration and Human Security at The Fletcher School at Tufts University in partnership with social research firm Decodis, with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Association is focusing on an important segment in society this year, based on the recommendation of the Central Bank of Oman.

The grant will allow Opportunity International to provide micro and small business loans, digital tools and specialized technical training to women-led small- and micro businesses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda.

The organizations will work together to unlock finance for MSMEs to help advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The finalists will go on to compete for the EUR 100,000 prize. Winners will be announced during the European Microfinance Week 2022.

The three Mobilink Microfinance Bank initiatives include low-cost 4G handsets for customers bundled with the bank’s digital banking application, e-commerce services for female entrepreneurs, and an agriculture advisory service for farmers in Pakistan. 

The investment will allow the bank to strengthen its lending operations for women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises in the underserved regions of the country.

Under this agreement, Karandaaz has committed a grant to FINCA Microfinance Bank Pakistan for initiating and running an exploration program that will help FINCA design gender-sensitive products and communication strategy with the aim of reducing the gender gap.
