It explores how reductions in transaction costs through M-PESA has enabled Kenyans to be more resilient in coping with the consequences of unexpected income shocks. These findings are based on the 2008-2014 M-PESA household panel survey conducted by Tavneet Suri from MIT and William Jack from Georgetown University.
