Welcome to the new FinDev Gateway!

Have you noticed something different around here? FinDev Gateway has undergone a transformation. We’ve re-designed our website and are very excited to bring you new, up-to-date financial inclusion resources along with a fresh, updated look and more user-friendly features.

In this Guide, we wanted to give you a tour of the new platform and highlight some of the most noteworthy changes.

Easy Content Sharing

Sharing your content is now easier than ever. On our new site, you no longer have to create an account in order to send us your publications, news, events and job postings. Simply fill out the form, hit Submit and voila! You’re done. No more logging in or trying to remember your password. Just post your content.

Join hundreds of FinDev community members who share over 3,000 publications, events, news and jobs each year in English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

Data

One of the most common questions we get is: Where can I find data on financial inclusion? As the microfinance and financial inclusion sectors have grown, so has the amount of data and the number of datasets available for research - all on different platforms from different organizations. On the new FinDev, we have brought them together for you in one place to make your research process easier and more efficient.

You can find our Data page under Explore in the main menu.

COVID-19 Resource Hub

This resource hub provides a collective space for the financial inclusion and microfinance community to share experiences, ideas and lessons learned as we all struggle to manage this unprecedented global crisis. It includes a discussion forum, data tracker on responses to COVID-19, weekly updates and a list of publications, news and events.

Countries

Are you looking for resources on a particular country or region? Our updated regional and country pages now give you a snapshot of the market’s financial inclusion landscape - with the latest data on account ownership levels, gender gap and use of digital finance - as well as access to all of our publications on that country or region.

Blog

See what people are talking about and share your own experiences! The FinDev Blog continues to be an important space for engaging with the global financial inclusion community. In 2019, over 80 different community members contributed to the FinDev Blog in English, Spanish, French and Arabic to share their learnings and ideas. With our new blog platform, you can catch up on recent discussions in the sector, and easily find the latest interviews, FinDev Guides and quizzes.

Webinars

FinDev Webinars feature ideas, research and lessons learned from leading microfinance and financial inclusion experts around the world. In 2019, 95 different speakers shared their insights and experiences through our webinars, and average webinar attendance was 175 participants.  With our new webinar platform, you now have easy access to all previous webinar recordings in one place.

Trending Topics

We have updated our list of topics to reflect the most important issues being discussed today in the financial inclusion sector. Some of the new topics include: Data, Digital Transformation, Fintech and Refugees. Each topic hub highlights featured content on the topic, and provides access to all related publications, blogs, webinars, news and events.

Communities of Practice

Our communities of practice (COPs) now have a more comprehensive platform to share their work and exchange knowledge. Get to know our COPs:

  • FinEquity: A global community to advance women's financial inclusion. Read about their latest updates, including #DGroupsDialogues which provide summaries of online member discussions, and the launch of FinEquityALC for Latin America. And if you want to provide feedback and weigh in on FinEquity priorities, take three minutes to fill out their survey.
  • PAYGo PERFORM: An initiative connecting investors and PAYGo companies through improved financial reporting and operational benchmarking.

If you currently work with a community of practice which is looking for an online home, let us know and we can see if FinDev would be the right place for your COP.

Besides all of these new bells and whistles, we still have the same extensive collection of financial inclusion resources that you’ve always relied upon - Publications, News, Events, Jobs. Find these under Explore in the main menu, and continue to share your content on FinDev Gateway!
